Beginning of an old era
~ Portraiture on black and white film
Bringing one of historical roots of photography from the 19th century to the current times, a sense of nostalgia, and intentional focus mainly on light, texture, shadow and form. Shooting on black and white film. No noise of uncompromising tones.
As a hybrid photographer (analog & digital) for a few years, I have since shifted the weight and likeness more towards shooting on film. My past Portrait photoshoot sessions were all done with digital camera, as it’s a safe medium with more control on the deliverables, until such stagnation in my workflow has got into the constantly seeking for more intentional, meaningful and creativity flow in me.
Fast forward to this series of portraits of my wonderful clients you would see following, who had gracefully allowed me to photograph their portrait with a roll of black and white film, at the former courthouse of the Supreme Court, the building that was last built in the style of classical architecture in the former British colony. It’s the only indoor location I love most for photoshoots besides out in the nature.
These were shot with CineStill DoubleX, ISO200.
